(lil'?) Bow wow is the man.
"correction, honey! bow wow is not in his early teens! The boy is about to be 18. Now Jo-Jo,yea that gurl JUST entered her teens so you can talk about her all you want...just lay off of Bow Wow!!!!"

    Who are you?

So someone corrected me from a post that is two months old (sept. 8 I believe). Actually upon further research, Bow wow was born on March 9, 1987 so he only looks like he's 15. So mybad, I stand corrected. Bow wow is in fact a man. And a great artist. hehe.

    What?! an update?!
    Yo.

So I figure I should update since I never do that. This past month has been pretty good. I am glad to be here and having a good time. That being said, I have a midterm Thursday and Friday, and I hope I can do well on. I like my roommate and we get along really well. These last few days it has been rainy and well...fallish i guess, but even that is pretty nice in coastal socal. A lot of trees branches, and even a tree was blown down in Alrich Park, at least I think it was, because people were chopping it up today (that's right, here at Irvine we have a big park in the middle of campus).

I have been going for every Sunday since I've been here to Newsong Church, which is predominantly Asian, even more Asian that UCI, but there are other white folk like me and I don't ever feel uncomfortable or anything. Maybe I'd feel slighty awkward at one of those groups that explicitly says its Asian in it's name like Asian American Christian Fellowship, Korea Campus Crusade for Christ, "Epic" --A ministry for Asian Americans, and so on. Anyways, Newsong is a pretty big church, but they have a college group called "the edge" (everything has some fancy name like "the edge", "the underground", "re:act" and "venture") and small groups. I went to an edge small group, and I liked it.

I also have become involved in Mesa Court council, which is like student council for our big housing community, and Mesa Court Leadership Institute, which is going to show me how to be a leader, apparently. So I have to organize a project for that. So I am planning on doing an excursion to The Museum of Tolerance in LA, which I went to a few years ago during the LA inner-city mission's trip. And I have to organize it by myself, and I need AT LEAST 15 people to go, otherwise I am a failure. So if anyone is in the LA area and wants to hit up the ol the Museum of Tolerance, it'll be sweet.

This weekend I'm going to a Campuswide Honors Program halloween dance. Anteater nerds know how to get down I tell ya. And, I am going to be a Mormon missionary, that's right, tie, book of mormon, and bike; the whole enchilada. I have the book of mormon hookup from a girl in my dorm. Good times.

    Good night.

So today my mommy woke me up at the early early hour of 8 A.M. because I had to give information to the tow truck man because last somebody or somebodies came and slashed tires on all three of our automobiles and a tire on the neighbors truck across the street. So I guess its just another chapter in the Boydston family car novel.

Ok. Most ridiculous song/video ever: JoJo and Bow Wow (who apparently isn't "lil'" anymore)-Baby it's you. Ok thats just silly watching them dance around (and dress) like they are 20 something r&b/rappers, and they are in their early teens. Jo Jo is 13! Bow wow is prolly 14 or MAYBE 15. Thats just silly. Come on now kids.

    10 until I leave.

    The Fast and the Furious
    Hello.

Two independent funny stories involving an individual following me in my car until I reached my destination and then there followed a confrontation:

    Story the first:

So on Saturday night after we had all bade adieu to Julie, I left and was driving home when I arrived at a red light. Next to me, I noticed two males in a late 90's Ford Mustang signalling me. If you are a guy who has driven around town, especially on a testosterone enhanced Saturday night, you would know that this could only mean that a race was afoot. So they lurched forward a bit and were still trying to get my attention. Finally the light turned green and I proceeded slowly, (NOT trying to race seeing as I was driving a 94 Escort)then they were keeping at my pace and I could only think they were taunting me. What more, they followed me all the way home, which is a few miles away. So I parked and looked over to see one guy that I did not recognize, adn another who said "Kent?". It was Dalman! I hadn't seen Dalman since school got out, and I don't know how many of you know this, but he was in a terrible accident in Honduras that left his father dead, his brother possibly permanently paralyzed, and Dalman with lots of cuts and gouges and in need of surgery. Well, Dalman is doing alright, and he really does look like the Dalman we've always know,n even though there is a little bit of metal in his face to keep things together. He has a few scars but overall he looks really good. So I talked to him for little while and it was good to see him again. The next day he came to youth group and kinda told his story, so it was good to kick it with the Dlamanator again.

    Story the second:

Today, I was driving home after work, in the work truck, and as I was turning on to Waring from Monte Vista, there was a man standing by his truck. I continued on not thinking much of anything. Well this guy followed me and my co-worker Andrew, all the way back to the shop which is a few miles away. I could not imagine what this guy wanted from me. So the guy got out of his truck and then came over to me and told me that I was speeding past him.

"Don't you slow down for pedestrian? You were going 80 miles an hour! I was on the radio and I have witnesses!" he proclaimed. At this point I kind of thought he was crazy and/or having a bad day. All I could muster was a "Um...I wasn't going that fast". So he proceeded to go in to the office and tell my employers that I was speeding or something, I don't actually know what he told them. And then he got in his truck and left. I went inside and they did not seem to care and they weren't mad at me. I don't know how I could have been speeding because we had just turned the corner on to the street when we saw him standing by his truck. But anyway, who does that? I mean seriously.

Tune in next time for more car chase adventures!

    Hey yallz again-

Yesterday was a pretty all round good day. First off, I went to my cousin's wedding in Davis. It was a really nice wedding. Especially since My family and I have spent a lot of time with my cousin over the years and it is really to cool to see her getting married to a really all around great guy. I am very happy for them both. It is also nice to see a couple who leads a very godly pure relationship which it seems there aren't a whole lot of these days. It is encouraging I guess. My cousin is less than 4 years older than me which is just crazy to think that I will be in marrying age in a few years. Not that I plan on getting married anytime soon, especially that soon, but still it's just crazy to think about. It's kinda crazy to think how old I am. When you are a little kid being 18 and such is SOOO far away and now its here! I want to start college tomorrow. I really do.

Later, me, Heather, Amrita, and Julie went to Doo's house where we met up with the peeps and hung out. It was cool seeing some people that I hadn't seen since school got out. So that was fun.

Today, Julie and Heather joined me at church which is cool. Then this whole afternoon I pretty much spent lounging around and looking at laptops online and then at staples. I think Staples is too pricey; you could get a much better deal at Best Buy, in my opinion. I need to get one soon. Well tomorrow I'm back to work again. 4 more weeks of work. And Julie is leaving in two weeks. so soon.

Also in case any of you were wondering, Planned Parenthood now is selling t-shirts that say "I had an Abortion" for only 15 dollars.

    C-C-Cielo!
So I got back from orientation yesterday and it was a whole lot of fun. Seriously it was like a miniature summer camp with a little bit of info about classes and advising yada yada thrown in. Our hall was called the Cielo Psycho Sock Puppets (Cielo being the hall name and the Psycho Sock Puppets part being our mascot) and we represented for our hall by making sock puppets. It was pretty swank. And all of our staffers were really cool too. You'd be suprised at how much bonding and stuff you can do in two and a half days with everbody. On Saturday night there was a really funny/entertaining talent show that all the staffers put on that was really cool and then there was a dance outside in the social science plaza, which is really cool because who'd think that there would ever be a dance there. I expect to walk through that plaza a gazzillion times in my career especially since my major is in the department of Social Sciences (yeah polisci!) and it'll be just cool to know that at one time you were at a hoppin' dance there. I like dancing and stuff even though I think I am really bad at it..errrr....I know I am really bad at it. But then again most people don't really know how to dance and no one really cares because you're just all having fun anyway.

Then after the dance and accoding to SPOP (student parent orientation program) tradition we stayed up the whole night and watched the "sunrise" from the Mesa Parking Structure. So then I got a few hours of sleep and then we hung out and had more special bonding time and then I left for my 5 1/2 hour drive home. I kinda thought that everyone there would be mostly socal people but I'd say that about half the people I met were from Nnorcal. So it's prolly not a good thing to have gotten 6 hours of sleep in 60 hours and then drive home 350 miles. But hey I made it!

So I am really ready to start college. Well there are still some things I need to get and stuff but really I wish it would start already. I got to see more of the campus than I had seen before too, and it really is pretty. It'll be almost two months until we actually get to start school and it just seems like a really long time especially after meeting people and having a good time and all that. I'll miss all my homies from home too(except for my fellow Anteater Chris)! it'll be sad but happy at the same time.

I still don't know what my schedule will look like because you sign up online and my enrollment window isn't until August 12th. The advisor said that we should take it easy first quarter because of all the adjusting and stuff which I think is prolly a good idea but I also wanna kinda hit the ground running ya know? But maybe I don't need to. Apparently there are too many freshmen who screw up their gpas because they try to do too much at the beginning of their freshmen year and it messes them up for the rest of college, or at least makes things a lot harder. Even if I only take the 13 units instead of 17 I'll still have sophomore status after the first quarter because of AP credits. We'll just have to see.

Congratulations for reading all of that.

    ramble on....
So tomorrow I'm leaving to go down to Irvine for orientation. I'm leaving at the fun hour of 6:30 AM which means that I'll get to sleep in an extra 30 minutes tomorrow! Anyways I hope I have a lot of fun and that I learn about things because I don't really know anything about what I am going to do or what classes I should take and so on yada yada. This week I only worked three days. That is really short. And a week from Saturday is my cousin's wedding so I only have to work five days next week. I need a laptop and I need to get one soon, the only thing is that I wish I knew more about computers so that I would be getting the best deal and everytime I talk to computer people I hear different things from different people. Rambling....(name the artist who sings "ramble on"; greatest classic rock band ever)...

    Sincerely,

It is time to post again!
One of the most frustrating things in the world is losing something important and not being able to find it. it makes me really frustrated. I know I'm not a unique case or anything, but still...

This sunday night I'm gunna go to Santa Cruz for the Saves The Day concert. I am looking forward to it a lot. And I am taking that Monday off so I don't have to worry about coming home to Turlock freaking late.

Congratulations to Money Tejes on making it into the Modesto Bee and getting a whole article written about him! You will always be an international chess master to me!

    The tragic circle of life.
So this morning as several Gibbs Maintenance trucks were going out down verduga to start the days work, the truck in front of us hit a dog that the owner had let off of his leash. I'll spare the details, but the dog pretty much died. And it wasn't the driver's fault because you couldn't even see the guy or his dogs until after the dog had already gone out into the street. So that was a very tragic way to start out the day. It was a good healthy dog too. That's sad. I saw it all go down too and right when the dog jumped out I was like "ah crap" he's gunna die. Even though it wasn't the drivers fault I think that if it were me I'd still feel really bad.

The rest of the day was decent though. a pretty normal day of cleaning stuff. The Rangers are in first place. woot.

    8:10 pm
So I worked from 6-11:30 today and the from 5 to about 7, cause we got done early even though i was scheduled untill 9:30. I got my first pay check today. It was only for my first day of work because that was the cut off. 76.93 after taxes had been taken out. Thats not too bad i guess. It was a solid day of work though.

I've been thinking about things and I am reminded of something that we studied in bible study a month or so ago. Dan did a really good job of explaining everything. Ephesians 6 talks about balance between children and parents and slaves and masters and it says:

"5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. 6 Work hard, but not just to please your masters when they are watching. As slaves of Christ, do the will of God with all your heart. 7 Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. 8 Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do, whether we are slaves or free. 9 And in the same way, you masters must treat your slaves right. Don't threaten them; remember, you both have the same Master in heaven, and he has no favorites." Eph 6:5-9

Thats kinda crazy. If God has put you in a position as a slave (which slavery was a lot different in bible times compared to the colonial US South) then you should do your best and not be a lazy jerk. I think this also goes to show that you shouldn't complain about work especially if it's putting food on the table, not that you shouldn't be able to express yourself to your boss if there really is some unjustice. But a lot of people just whine to whine. And I hope I don't do that, or I try not to. If slaves should be obedient (and likewise masters to slaves), how much more so should we act to people who pay us and we work willingly for?

Those are just some things that I've been thinking about through the hours of washing windows and dusting.

    Good Night.

I have a job at Gibbs maintenance. i clean things and do pretty much anything youd think a maintenance person would do. Also, a normal day consists of about 11 hours. That's a lot, but im hard core. after the first day, id say im rather tired and such, but everyone else there does it like everyday and has been doing it for a long time. so yeah.

    that is all.

So I just got back from San Diego where I helped get my brother's things to take back to T-town while he is doing orientation type things. So in socal these days it was pretty gloomy, but I guess it's just the June gloom. We also stopped by the school of champions, UCI, so that I could get a shirt. Now I can represent my Anteater pride!

Thats pretty much all there is to say from me. Tomorrow me, Tim, and Tyler are going to hike to "Cleo's Bath" a little ways from Pinecrest lake, picking up some ladies while we're at it. Or not. I guess thats it, although I still need one of those job things. I hafta write a buncha thank you cards too, cause apparently I just graduated and people were nice enough to give me things for it. who'da figured?

    until we meet again........

    This one is really long
So today I turned in 4 applications. To baskin Robbins, In n Out, Jmaba Juice, and Food Maxx. I hope I get a job somewhere.

    story of stupidness:

So before I went inside of baskin Robbins to turn in the app, I signed the last thing and stuff and made sure that I had everything right and stuff. So I had set the keys down on the seat and since I don't normally write stuff in the car I forgot about the keys and I freaking left my keys in the car. I realized this after I had turned in my application. So then I was like "great!". So I could have walked back inside to ask to use their phone because I had locked my keys in the car. That would have been hilarious.

"Hi, um....I just turned in my application...I am not even responsible enough to not lock my keys in my car...so may I please use your phone to call someone to bail me out?"

But I didn't do that. I just walked home and really it only takes like 15 minutes. So then me sister drove me back to the car once I got home and I went on my journey to find a job.

So I when I went to In n Out I did the final check and signing of things in the car. And I did the exact same thing!!! I locked my keys in the car again! well almost. When I had unlocked the car at baskin robbins I had unlocked the passenger side door and fortunately I had forgotten to lock it again. So right after I was like "Kent, you are even more of an idiot than before!" I realized that the other door was unlocked. I'm still and idiot though. Who does/almost locks their keys in their car twice in about a half hour? and in my 2 1/2 years of driving, I had never ONCE locked my keys in the car at all.

So anyways that concludes my story of being an idiot.

Wish me luck, guys, that I can get a job cause I really need one!!!

tomorrow is the last day of school for seniors. It really is nice to not have to take finals save for a select number of unfortunate seniors in Mr Huth's class. It does feel rather anti-climatic but maybe everything will be big next friday when we actually graduate.

Im in the process of trying to find a job for the summer. So wish me all luck. Im applying to five places. If i dont get a job, this is going to be a very pointless boring summer and I really should be doing things. Sitting around for 3+ months = bad. Once again, if someone has a stellar job oportunity im open to a lot of things.

I really am ready to be done with HS. looking back, it has been a bit different than I had always imagined it as a little tyke. I guess thats usually how it works though. There are some things that I woulda done differently too if I were a freshman and could start over. Overall though, I liked HS and lot better than Junior High (yes junior high not middle school) and i dont really know why. and i guess HS is like that in a way too. But i guess in college there will just be college drama instead of high school drama.

    That is all kids.....

So yesterday was prom and it was really fun(at least i think so). Especially since i had a hot date :) We took pictures before to avoid the rush. we took sooo many pictures that night. I cant smile right though. whenever i try to smile for pictures it comes out all corny looking. I cant help it. i try not to but idunno, it just doesnt work. Everyone tells me to "just smile normal" but i just cant. go figure.

For dinner we went to toriis, this Japanese restaurant, which was pretty swell. They make the food in front of you and flip food in to your mouth and such. and the food is pretty durn good. After dinner we took more pictures and then some more. woohoo.

After that we went to the ol dance. I thought it was really fun. Of course i am a white guy so i prolly dont really know how to dance but then again i dont think most people in there really did either. so you just go out there and have fun i guess. I think that every school dance i go to i get a little more comfortable. pretty soon ill be dancing on tables...except that was the last school dance ever.

afterwards we went swimming at kelly's house. or i should say the guys went swimming while the girls said it was too cold. then we watched jackass the movie which has some funny parts and then some pretty disgusting parts. then i went home. Who knew you could have fun without getting wasted?

    So overall it was good.

    good night.

    get this party started
Yay! I'm done with all AP tests...ever! Its good to be done with things and its just another indication that this year is basically over. Seniors have like what...9 days left? wow. I really need a job. Any suggestions kids? I'm thinking not fast food and something indoors. But beggars can't be choosers. If anyone out there has the hook up that would be sweet.

So today right as I pulled up to school I realized that I didn't have my AP test check. So I freaking raced back home and then back to school and actually wasn't that late. There's no more physics or calc this year so all we do for those two periods is sit around and play cards. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Unless I find something substantial to do this summer tis going to be waay boring.

    Go Eaters! woot!
So after thinking about things for about a month, and literally losing sleep, i have decided to matriculate(big college word ooo) at UC Irvine. Afeter thinking about things it really made more sense to start college in the Fall instead of in the spring for berkeley. And also i got a chancellors scholarship at Irvine which adds up to be quite a nifty sum of money over the years so im pretty happy about not being too poor when i graduate. Cal is a great school though-i wont hate-it really is, but quite frankly if they really wanted me id get in for Fall. I could have gone to fall extension (which is first come, first serve) and then started as a real student in spring but that doesnt guarantee housing. So i might have had to live with some random sock protesting hippies in a tie-dye VW van with a huge peace sign on it and for a semester.

When i was making my decision i kinda wanted God to make it for me ya know? but really i had to make a choice and God never told me "GO TO IRVINE AND MAKE FISHERS OF MEN!!" or something like that.

And i guess it was one of those moment---i was lying awake in bed thinking about things and i thought, "This is such a life changing decision that i have to make. i shouldnt have this kind of responsibility. Im only......." And then it hit me like a brick in the face: I am an adult and im going to have to be making these kinds of decisions for the rest of my life. yikes.

But really i think i had two pretty decent options, and some people dont get good options, so i think im lucky and i am grateful.

This is pretty long for me. wow your're cool for reading it all the way through!

So the moral of the story is that everyone should be an anteater.

    woohoo
I'm done with my term paper! Best spring break ever! That's all i got.
    Tuesday, April 13th, 2004
    7:38 pm
    i got nothing.
So I figure i should update. Spring break is almost half-way through which is sad and happy. After spring break is the official beginning of the end. And of course the next week is cat6 testing for all non seniors. ouch. have fun with that.

One might think that things are winding down but no theyre realy winding up. Its like school has dwindled down over the years and this is its one last surge! term papers, AP tests, teachers who hate seniors! But really in less than two months Ill be out of High School which is kinda crazy if ya think about it. I always thought high school was so big when i was a little tike now its nothing but a pestilent congregation of vapors.(props for shakespeare reference?)

I took a tour of Cal today. I really liked it. Its just an all around happening (expensive) place. Going down to UC Irvine on Saturday (lots of driving to go down and back in a day. oh well) for "Celebrate UCI day", which should be a good trip. The only problem is that i gots to finish my blasted term paper before then. sigh sigh sigh. hopefully ill get to do something else rad this spring break.
